Jesus said ... "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit"

Pastor John and Rose Langat have six children and we have shown pictures of five of them below.
Unfortunately we don't have a photo of Caleb but we will ask John to send one to us when he is able.
From left to right are, Gideon, Lucy, Michael, Ruth and Nathan.

Pastor John Langat visited England in 2005.  In April of that year he came to our Church on a Tuesday evening and spoke to us of his life and work in Kenya.  He is a friend of our Pastor and also of his family.

Pastor John is a very gracious man who loves our Lord Jesus.  He has a wife, Rose, and six children.  Gideon, Ruth, Michael, Lucy, Nathan and Caleb.  Although it seems a large family, in Kenya it is regarded as small! All the children do very well at school.   John constantly thanks the Lord for providing the money for his children’s education and their daily needs.

The family have a small farm in Kenya
.  They do not have much money (school fees take up most of it), and have to do all the work themselves as they are unable to afford hired help.

John often visits Kericho and speaks to the street children there, orphans with no homes, food or any help.  He takes them provisions, and tells them about our Lord Jesus Christ.  He also distributes Christian literature.  What  a great burden John has for these dear children.

John does not have a meeting place for Bible study – the room he did have got burnt down.  There is a shortage of housing , but is confident that God will provide one.  He is such a wonderful example of a Christian man who puts all his trust and faith in God.  He doesn’t have much but he shares what he has.  A warm and kind person.

When he came to Wigmore Evangelical Church, we were really touched by what he told us about his life.  He has so little, and we have so much.  He didn’t dwell on that but praised our wonderful God and how good he is.  I spoke to him after his talk and have kept in touch ever since.  Its wonderful to know that he is praying for us in Kenya and that we are one in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor John has asked that we pray:

  • The Lord will give him strength as he continues to visit Kericho town and the distribution of Christian literature

  • For his children as they pursue their education in school and university

  • For Rose (John’s wife) who has eye problems

  • That the Lord will provide a room for his Bible studies.

  • The orphans he encounters as he goes about his ministry in Kericho
